Jane Joss is actually an alias for Alyssa and Joslyn Krismer. Sisters-in-law (married to twins!) with a love of interior design and crafting. Alyssa and Joslyn construct all of their floral stems, plants, and wreaths by hand, customizable to suit any style. They find endless inspiration from nature and interesting fabrics.

Bespoke Press opened an invitation to aspiring illustrators back in May and, "10800 foot treadled impressions, 1800 sheets of cotton paper and 30 new ink colours later," they have now launched these 10 new prints in their shop! I would hasten you to get in there quick, because each print is a limited edition run of only 150 prints.

One of our contributing writers, Megan Eckman (hello Megan!), wrote me about her new work over at her studio, Studio M.M.E.. I went over to have a peek, and loved what I found.



Megan has teamed up with Catherine (Cat) Ivins of Polarity, transforming her artwork into magnetized art necklaces that you can change on a whim.



Isn't it great when two very talented individuals work together in collaboration? When each one has their own set of skills, their coming together fuses them and a new creation emerges that may not have been possible otherwise. I find it very alluring and truly in the spirit of indie.

As I begin to reflect on working on STYL(mag) as a full time job (and it has slowly started to sink in), I thought of the many mags and blogs out there already in existence and in full force, some of which I personally enjoy reading myself. I do like to think of them as my colleagues rather than competition.

Wouldn't you like to see your favorite shops and designers teaming up with one another, or do you know any who are already doing so and creating products that just wows you? If you're a business owner yourself, would a collab suit your business approach?

I think Cat has summed it up really well in her Etsy Featured Seller interview.

"...the positive response in my Polarity shop for my new artist series of lockets has amazed me. Promoting and supporting other artists has a way of working its way back to you in surprising ways."

I get very excited every time I see new creative ideas, something that stops you in your tracks and makes you think, "Now why didn't I think of that?" That's just how it was when I discovered Fox & Clover on Etsy.





I simply loved the way Sabrina presented her products! Her simple photo styling on chalkboard does well in bringing out her shop concept and the technique that she uses to craft her line of jewelry and homeware.

Here's a gem hailing from the Perth, Western Australia that I was perusing via a link sent to me by my dear sister (thanks, Adek!). The first things that caught my eye were her paperdoll illustrations, aptly named Paper Doll Project. Childlike and a little chubby, why not let her transform you into a paper doll?

She shares more of her sketches on her blog, and illustrations and experimental works on her online portfolio. She's also on Etsy and Myspace.
