New beginnings

I finally get the chance to be on the internet once again after things have somewhat settled down. It's still not perfectly set up, but it'll do for now. Here's where things pretty much stand.
Because this is a very big change in pretty much every way imaginable, it takes a while getting used to. Life has done a spring-cleaning of sorts. Everything that I know and have has been reduced to the most minimal and the most basic, and everything else will have to be build up again, all in due time. What this means is that I will be pausing the online shop for now, for how long I don't know. I will still be working on the magazine that I had started, but I will have to reassess the time schedule. It may not be possible to release the first issue by January, so it may very well be that the first issue will be for Mar-Apr, and it will be a printed one. It may be better that way anyway, so I'll have more time to work on it and if there were to be any kinks along the way, there will still be time to iron them out.
And I guess that is pretty much it. In other news, I am enjoying my time here. But then that's another entry for another day. Happy holidays everyone.
xoxo, Riz

Projections, Aims & Aspirations

I have received emails asking about the rates and projected readership, so I shall post them here as well. I have created a table to show an example of how the rates work. I have used the Full Page size @ 6x frequency (1 year) for this example but you can easily replace the numbers with any sizes and frequencies.
The first section is with the 30% discount if you make your bookings now till December 19 2008.
The second section is when you make your bookings normally with frequency and consecutive issue discounts.
The third section is when you make your bookings one at a time, without taking advantage of any discounts.
** Please note that full payment is expected before the first Reservation Deadline of your booking is due for your bookings to be confirmed. If you would like to pay via installments, please email me and we can work something out.
** If for any reason we are unable to deliver your advertisement and the fault is in our part, full refund will be given for any unused portions of your booking.
PROJECTED READERSHIP, Aims & Aspirations I am aiming big for this magazine. I will be contacting blog editors to act as hosts for online versions of the magazine. For the first printed issue, I am projecting 2,000 copies in circulation distributed through B&M shops in addition to contacting blog editors. By 2010-2015, I'm projecting to multiply the number of copies in circulation into the 5-digit figure range and also expand distribution channels to include arts venues, cafes, etc. worldwide. It will still however remain very much indie-driven, so as not to lose its relevancy of its primary purpose - which is to promote the indie scene.
TARGET AUDIENCE STYL's target readers are mainly female, between the ages of 20 - 40. She's a free-spirited, fashionable, and socially enlightened individual who loves the uniqueness that is life.

Now this website and blog is still very primitive, and a lot more is to be added, all in due time - but the blog is up and you can read and follow all the latest developments of the magazine here. At this point I've pretty much finalized the media kit, which I will be adding to the right, and also email it out to you if you have registered your email address previously.
Reading the media kit, you may realize that it's written in the slant of a printed publication. Though I may have mentioned it being a e-magazine previously, I do have plans for it to be an actual magazine, distributed out through B&M shops and other arts venues. So if you have a business - any kind at all - remember to download the media kit and be a Styl-ish sponsor! Let's together support the indie movement and give it a voice - and make it LOUD while we're at it!!

So.. I have put the word out calling to feature sellers and their products for a new magazine project I'm creating that's coming out next year. The response is amazing. In just a short time, I received close to 50 convos. I'll be bumping the post up over the next few days for those who might have missed it and would be interested.
Here is the post on the Etsy forum: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5934588
Over the next few days I'll be finalizing the line-up for the first issue, prepare a media kit, prepare a timeline, and get the official website for the mag up and running. Right now whatever updates I have on the mag will have to be posted here.
Here's a peek at a draft for the cover.

And now... I'm just so excited! :)
