STYL is a coming together for those who share our passion for the independent. Not only are we a great platform for you to shine, but to also be a part of a global community of creative and inspiring individuals from all walks of life.
To begin with, we would implore you to dig around a little, read the blog, and READ THE MAGAZINE. To whet our appetite, you must know what makes us tick. We feature articles, photography, stories and interviews that are fun, quirky, whimsy, pretty, thought-provoking about living indie. We want to hear about its social impact, historical beginnings, anecdotes of day-to-day indie perusal and adaptation, indie happenings in your community, and such. And we want to see the unconventional. No how-to-(make-something) or DIY type articles; you can find those is many other craft mags. Certainly none of those mainstream media-ish, celeb-gushing, trashy gossip, please.
So if you have a great idea for an article, shoot us an email with your thoughts along with a link to your recent portfolio. Please keep in mind though, that as we are still an infant, we will not be able to accept any commissions or offer any compensations at this time. We go through each and every email that we receive, but unfortunately we will not be able to reply to each one. If you did not receive a reply, you may not be a right fit at this time but feel free to contact us with new work in the future.

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
What To Include
1. Your concept proposal -- what's your idea for the article/photoshoot? Be as detailed as you can in 300 words or less. Point form is ok.
2. Who's in your article/shoot? If you are researching books, quoting persons, already know who your models are, and such, name them.
3. When can you start, and how long will you take to write/shoot it?
4. Tell us a little bit about yourself, too.
5. Any other info that you think we should know.
ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS
Artists/Designers
We are always on the lookout for fresh finds for our artist/designer feature. If you think you are someone who will completely blow our minds off, tell us why.
Write An Article
Write a styl(ish) article! We are interested in articles that discusses the indie lifestyle -- fashion and beauty, living, travel, wedding, and such. We are also interested in personal stories and anecdotes of indie living. If you have an idea for a topic related to any one of those, or something completely different, we're all ears (or eyes in the case of emails). Write to us with your ideas.

Be a regular voice in our blog
If you'd like to be a regular blogger on STYL, write to us with ideas what you like to post about. Remember to include several links to your best recent posts, too.
PHOTOGRAPHY SUBMISSIONS
Conceptual Storytelling
We are interested in photography submissions that tells a story.
An accompanying writeup is of course optional; you may include it if it enhances your concept.
If you have an already-completed photoshoot, you can send us a low-res (72dpi, approx. 800x600px is ok) for consideration. If you are proposing a photoshoot, please run your concept by us with details like location, clothing and make-up style, and such, and include at least 10 samples of your past work.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER WITH TOP-OF-THE-LINE EQUIPMENT. If you are, that's excellent. If you're not but have a spiffy idea, send it our way anyway. In fact, we encourage experimentalism.
PRODUCT CONTRIBUTIONS
We are always on the lookout for product samples to pass on to our readers as gifts. If you are an indie artist/designer or run a shop, contribute to us. Readers will interact with your brand more closely when they sample your product. You also get the benefits of having your brand in our magazine and link on the website.
